Coach John Byron

Head Coach

Energetic and charismatic, 6th year Menchville head football coach has started putting the pieces in place to bring back the pride in Monarch football. John has pulled the Monarchs from ninth to seventh place in the extremely competitive Peninsula District.

Prior to accepting the job as head football coach for Menchville High School, Coach Byron spent five seasons as an assistant football coach with Brookville High School in Lynchburg, VA. During his tenure, the Brookville Bees made it to the Division 3 playoffs three out of five years.

Coach Byron's football career included four years at Heritage High School (Lynchburg) where he earned Honorable Mention All District at Wide Receiver. He went on to continue his football career at Bridgewater College where he played tight end for one year.

In 2000, Coach Byron graduated from Lynchburg College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Coach Byron has been married for nine years to Mrs. Tami Byron and has two sons, Gavin and Aidan.
